About Talking Clay
Deco Clay Craft Academy was founded in 1981 by Kazuko Miyai. Since 1981, DECO Clay Craft Academy has spread throughout Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States. Deco clay is easy to handle and can be moulded under room temperature. About Deco Clay
Talking Clay founder Maisie Cheng joined the Deco Clay Craft Academy in 1996. After completing the advanced courses and obtained the instructor's certificates, she started teaching and has participated in many craft art exhibitions. She then set up Talking Clay in 2006 and has been giving classes in City Garden, North Point.

Talking Clay is now opened to students of all ages and nationalities and provide instructor certificates for those who wish to become instructors themselves. We also provide bespoke workshops for schools and private organisations.

Deco Certificate Courses
There are two Deco certificate courses available, Modeling Course and Flower Course. For those who are interested in taking these two courses, please apply for membership from Japan's Deco Clay Craft Academy first.

The charges are as follows:

Instructor
For those who wish to become an instructor of a particular certificate course, they have to satisfactorily completed the Level 1 and Level 2 of that course and the last two projects of the level 2 course will be used as materials for the instructor's examination. The fees for an instructor and the examination are as follows:

Modeling Course
For Level 1, you have to complete 10 projects in around 20 lessons and for Level 2, you have to complete 20 projects in around 30 lessons.

Material charges are not included in the course fee.

Clay Art Course
A more advanced course is offered to those who want to learn more about the technique of clay art. Students will be creating various artworks with different kinds of clay. They are also encouraged to design their own clay craft.

This course is aimed for students aged 15 or over.

A certificate will be given upon completion of 10 pieces of clay work.

Children Clay Craft Course
This course offers creative approach to clay art for children. Using Japanese soft clay, along with other materials and tools, children will be given many opportunities to explore their imagination and creativity, developing their sense of aesthetics.

A certificate will be given upon completion of 10 pieces of clay work.

Aged 4 - 6
$520 per 4 lessons, 1 hour per lesson
Aged 6 - 12
$560 per 4 lessons, 1.5 hours per lesson
